Al Mamzar is an excellent family beach. There are a variety of attractions available here, including beach volleyball, palm-lined jogging trails, BBQ pits, and a number of water sports. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the day, and little air-conditioned beach cabins may be rented. There is little cost to access the beach park, but it is well worth it.  Al Mamzar is close to Deira, a popular tourist destination because it is the original center of Dubai.
